01Shapes that stay shapes
Rectangles get rounding via the yellow corner dot (Alt-drag rounds one corner only). Stars are parametric: the outer orange handle resizes and rotates, the inner one sets every point's depth together. Polygons take a side count in the panel.
02Bend any edge
Select a shape, then drag the middle of any edge — it bows into a curve. Alt+click an edge to add a point; click a point and press Delete to remove it and bridge the gap. This is how a rectangle becomes a shield, a leaf, a flag.
03Tidy and transform paths
The Path section appears when a path is selected: Smoothness re-fits curves from the original points (slide both ways), Simplify removes clutter, Roughen adds hand-drawn jitter, and corner/smooth buttons reset every anchor at once.
04Join: weld broken lines
Select any number of open paths and press Cmd/Ctrl+J. Ends that touch are welded into one smooth point, gaps get bridged, and if the chain closes on itself the shape closes and can take a fill — the fix for traced art and almost-closed pen work.
05Boolean operations
Stack shapes and combine them: Union merges everything, Subtract uses the TOP shape as a cutter that trims everything underneath, Intersect keeps only the overlap, Exclude punches the overlap out. Group + cutter + Subtract is the classic trim workflow.
06Slice and holes
Draw an open path across a shape and use Slice to cut it in two along that line. Compound paths put real holes in shapes — a donut is a circle minus a circle — and the smoothness slider tidies holes too.
