01Meet the workspace
The tools live down the left, your pages sit in the middle, and the right panel has three tabs: Design (how things look), Canvas (the page itself) and Layers (what's on it). Hover any button and it explains itself — that's the learning tooltips, and you can turn them off later in the Canvas tab.
02Draw your first shapes
Pick the Rectangle tool (R) and drag on the page. Try the Ellipse (O) holding Shift for a perfect circle, and the Star (Y) — drag its orange handles afterwards and notice it stays a star. Everything you draw lands in the Layers tab.
03Colour it in
With a shape selected, the Design tab shows Stroke (the outline) and Fill (the inside). Click the colour wells to change them, or drag a swatch from the bottom bar straight onto any shape. The eyedropper in the bottom bar picks colour from anywhere on screen.
04Select, move, arrange
The Select tool (V) is home base: click to select, drag to move, corner handles resize, the circle above rotates. Use Cmd/Ctrl+D to duplicate, and the Arrange section to bring things in front of or behind each other.
05Save and export
Save keeps a project file (.shoutcreate.json) that stays fully editable forever. Export PNG gives you an image to share — and the caret next to it holds SVG and WebP. The app also autosaves to your browser every few seconds, with rolling snapshots under the history button.
06Designing on your phone
On a phone, ShoutCreate opens a dedicated sketch pad — a clean white page made for one finger that never zooms or drifts around. The toolbar has Sketch, Text, Move, Width, Erase, Colour and Clear, with Undo and Save up top. Draw a line with your finger; tap Text, type, and tap Done to place it; tap a line or text with Move to drag it. Width sets the line thickness, or the text size when a text is selected. When you're happy, tap Save: export a PNG image to share, or a file you can open in the full desktop app to keep refining. It's a separate, lightweight page, so it loads fast and works the same in Safari, Chrome and Edge. (On a phone you can still reach the full studio by adding ?full=1 to the web address.)
